Formosa Swim
Hi, It’s Bibi! The founder and designer of Formosa Swim. Before I tell you about how I started my company, I’d love to share with you a little about myself. I was born in Hungary and raised in Italy. I did a lot of traveling in my younger years prior to moving to the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii to reunite with my dear brother Tony after years of separation.
Now, I currently split my time between Los Angeles, Hawaii and Brazil. I can speak over five languages, I guess you can say that I’m a traveling gal at heart. When I am not working on my business, I am flying in the friendly skies as a flight attendant for Hawaiian Airlines.
I have lived places with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and have always dreamed of creating something that I was passionate about. Bikinis are a staple in my suitcase and this is where Formosa Swim was born. I wanted to create bikinis that were comfortable and felt secure when moving around in them. Formosa (is an Italian word) meaning beautifully shaped body. I decided to design bikinis that fit my lifestyle. I enjoy working out, being at the beach, traveling and maybe a night out in the town. My bikinis are versatile and could be used for all occasions, not just for the beach. Sometimes I’ll wear some of our bikini tops to workout in since the material is thicker, dri-fit, and has good support. After the gym, I’ll just throw a bikini bottom on and head to the beach. Our one-piece bikinis made with compression material give you that perfect snatched waist and provide full support for your curves! They also look great in a pair of jeans and can be used as a body suit.
Each bikini is special and unique because they are all named after the beautiful women in my life: my best friends. One by one, I asked them to design each person’s dream bikini. Targeting their every want and need in a swimsuit. Some of my friends are mothers and wanted something that covered their mid sections and cinched in their waistlines. Some are athletic and wanted something more functional for water sports. Others wanted something more stylish and fun. It was amazing to see everyone’s design unfold and see the smile on their faces when they tried on my pieces. The biggest goal for my swim line was to design bikinis that made people feel beautiful, confident, sexy and ultimately just love their bodies!
